HOW DOES RATOSONIC (ULTRASOUND) WORK?
Ultrasound is a spectrum of sound (above 20kHz) which starts just beyond the human hearing (20Hz to 20kHz) range. Certain animals like Rats / bats / dolphins have the ability to detect ultrasound with varying frequency ranges. The rats / rodents are mainly nocturnal and their night vision isn’t as good. They rely on ultrasound for communication (distress signaling / mating calls) and to a certain extent echo location. GIZMOCAT bombards ultrasound waves with unique patterns which disturb and disorient the rat / rodent. The ultrasound intensity is much more intense and deafening than the rat / rodent can tolerate. To add to its woes these wave patterns interfere with the echo location and cuts out incoming ultrasound signatures of its natural predators like snakes and cats and also other rats and rodents. They are also very territorial creatures and will attack and kill another trespassing rat / rodent. Ultrasound is its sixth sense and blocking that makes it very insecure of its environment. RATOSONIC repels the rats by both causing physical discomfort and by waging a psychological warfare.
If RATOSONIC installed as per the installation manual the rats / rodents should stop visiting within a week. Rats / rodents are stubbornly territorial and they will resist relocating as long as possible and it is as per the individual rat / rodent’s tolerance limits against RATOSONIC ’s ultrasound bombardment. Tests and customer feedback have shown they leave within a week.
RATOSONIC repels rats / rodents by bombarding ultrasound. It is a very unbearable sound level for them. They may visit or use to escape a prey but will not be able to stay for too long to cause any damage.
INSTALLATION
Note: RATOSONIC needs to be installed firmly (eg. to the enclousure wall) using the screws provided.
Caution: Using cable ties or double sided tape will drastically reduce the effectiveness. Strong ultrasonic wave fronts are created when unit is installed securely to a firm base, thus providing a hostile environment for rats.
No. RATOSONIC needs to be installed inside the enclosure (less than 300sq ft). RATOSONIC uses ultrasound waves which need to be continuously reflected to irritate the rat/rodent. In and open environment the waves escape causing very little or no distress to rats.
Yes. RATOSONIC is can protect an enclosed area less than 300 sq. ft. (ceiling height less than 12 ft.)
Yes. RATOSONIC can be installed inside the ATM machine. Select the model variant according to the voltages available.

RATOSONIC is easy to install. It is powered with a 2-wire connection depending upon the voltage model variant. It can be affixed using the screws provided.

WIRING (POWERING RATOSONIC )
AC-DC variant supports – 35 VAC to 275VAC and 30VDC to 290VDC voltage supply.
DC variant supports – 12VDC to 30VDC voltage supply.
Caution: RATOSONIC needs to be always powered ‘ON’. An Uninterrupted power supply (UPS) is advised where power supply is erratic.

Different animals have different hearing ranges. Some dog breeds can hear frequencies up to 45 kHz. Domesticated pets are used to and become immune to ultrasound. Commonly used household items which have moving parts like mixers, washing machines, dryers, fans and even the quietest of air conditioners will emit some amount ultrasound. Even electronic equipment like mobile chargers, televisions leak out ultrasound. Moreover the sensitivity is not the same across the hearing range of the animals. RATOSONIC is designed to irritate rats, not other pets.
Also most of the ultrasound emitted by RATOSONIC is contained within the enclosure. As ultrasound cannot pass through solid surfaces only reflect there is little or no ultrasound outside. Also in open areas ultrasound gets absorbed and dies down quickly. For the ultrasound to be irritating it needs an enclosed area where it can bounce off solid surfaces, like within the control panel enclosures.
This product is a result of 35 yrs. of continual research in the field of ultrasound. We have hundreds of happy pet owners who are our customers. The same Ultrasound technology is protecting the Ambani household ‘Antila’ and they have various pets.
As long as the pet is not going inside the enclosure, it should not be affected, and if its affected it will not go inside the enclosure, which is a good thing.
